Free whiteboard animation with no watermark is available from only three of the seven tools we checked: GenPixy AI, StrokeVideo, and SpeedSketch. VideoScribe, Animaker, and Powtoon stamp their logo on free exports, and Doodly is a 14-day trial that ends in a purchase.
They differ in daily output and in the kind of video they make.
Free plan limits and watermarks
Figures come from each tool's own pricing page or home page, checked on 4 November 2026.

A narrated explainer from one topic: GenPixy AI
GenPixy AI is the one to try first if you want a full explainer rather than a moving picture. You type a topic such as "Why is the sky blue?" and choose Whiteboard. It writes the script, draws each scene, reads it aloud in one of 70+ languages, and adds word-by-word captions. Each free video is up to 60 seconds at 720p.
You get 3 free videos a day. Free videos carry a small GenPixy mark, but once a day you can tick No watermark before you press Create video, and that video has no watermark. A brief GenPixy frame closes it. The export includes an MP4, subtitles as an SRT file, a thumbnail, plus a title and description ready for YouTube.
Need more than the free videos? Videos made with a top-up never have a watermark and can reach 10 minutes and 1080p. A pack starts at $1.00, with no subscription.
Longer free videos: StrokeVideo
StrokeVideo turns a topic into a narrated whiteboard video; its free video runs up to 2 minutes once a day. The frame has no watermark, and a 2-second StrokeVideo card closes the video. It offers 23 drawing styles and narration in 15 languages, and it can start from a web page or a PDF. Paid plans are $19.90 a month for 40 minutes or $99.90 a year for 500 minutes. We compared the two in more detail in GenPixy AI vs StrokeVideo.
One image, sketched: SpeedSketch
SpeedSketch takes one uploaded picture and draws it line by line, as if by hand on a board. The free version has no watermark and needs no account. It exports 3 to 15 seconds at 720p. Because it has no script or voice and no scene changes, it suits a logo reveal or a short intro more than an explainer. Its text-to-video feature is paid, from £5.
Why the template tools leave a mark
VideoScribe, Animaker, Powtoon, and Doodly are scene-by-scene editors: you place each image, line, and text box, and the free tier is a demo. VideoScribe's trial lasts 7 days and watermarks every video; its Core plan, the first without a watermark on videos, is $14.34 a month. Animaker removes its logo from the $15-a-month Basic plan. Powtoon's free plan has its watermark and no MP4 download; Lite at $15 a month removes it for 5 exports a month. Doodly asks for a paid plan after its 14-day trial.
If you want to draw every scene yourself, these editors give you that control. For a finished, narrated video from a sentence, GenPixy AI or StrokeVideo is faster.
Free plan limits, YouTube uploads, and browser use
Is there a whiteboard animation maker that is completely free?
Yes, within daily limits. GenPixy AI gives 3 free videos a day, one of them without a watermark; StrokeVideo gives 1 a day; SpeedSketch is free for clips up to 15 seconds from one image.
Can I use a free whiteboard video on YouTube?
Yes. A GenPixy AI video downloads as a normal MP4, with SRT subtitles and a title and description ready for YouTube, so you can upload it directly.
Do I need to install anything?
GenPixy AI, StrokeVideo, and SpeedSketch run in a browser on a phone or computer; nothing needs installing.
